Australian Cameron Green is now the costliest overseas player in the history of the IPL. Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings engaged in an intense bidding war for the Australian, but the Shah Rukh Khan-owned KKR roped in the all-rounder for a whopping Rs 25.20 crore.
He broke the record of compatriot Mitchell Starc (Rs 24.75 crore, IPL 2024, KKR) to become the costliest foreign player ever.
Though the winning bid was for INR 25.2 crore, Green can only earn INR 18 crore.
Quinton de Kock, who was belatedly added to the shortlist, entered at 1 crore and was sold to Mumbai Indians for base price.
CSK has made history as they picked uncapped duo Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma for Rs 14.20 crore each. This is the highest IPL salary for any uncapped player in history. Another uncapped player Kashmir's Aquib Dar got Rs 8.40 crore (Delhi Capitals).
