Earlier today, Anamul Haque Bijoy, Mosaddek Hossain, Shofiul Islam, Alauddin Babu, Sunzamul Islam, Mizanur Rahman, and Nihaduzzaman were left out of the final BPL auction draft after being flagged in an ongoing corruption probe linked to the tournament.
According to the statement, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) recently received the findings of an Independent Inquiry Committee.
Following the submission, all matters related to possible corruption were transferred to the Board’s newly established Integrity Unit, led by its Independent Chair, Alex Marshall. The Unit has been mandated to operate autonomously and handle sensitive issues without any external influence.
In preparation for BPL Season 12, the Governing Council acted on the recommendations provided by the Integrity Unit’s Chair. As part of the precautionary measures aimed at strengthening the league’s integrity, certain individuals, including several players, were not invited to register for this year’s tournament.
The Board emphasised that this is a BPL-specific decision, taken to safeguard the ongoing review process and protect the credibility of the franchise league.
The measures, officials noted, will not affect participation in other domestic cricket competitions under the BCB.
