Dhaka Capitals set to appoint English coach Toby Radford as head coach for the upcoming BPL season, with former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar joining the franchise as team mentor.

On Thursday evening, the franchise posted a teaser asking fans to guess their new head coach, someone who had previously served as an assistant coach of a T20 World Cup-winning team and had also worked in Bangladesh.

According to a reliable source confirmed to Cricfrenzy, that person is none other than English coach Toby.

Although Radford has never worked directly with the Bangladesh national team, he has been involved with the BCB High Performance (HP) Unit before stepping down due to personal reasons.

Meanwhile, ahead of the upcoming BPL season, franchises have already begun shaping their squads, and Dhaka is no exception.

Dhaka Capitals have secured Alex Hales, although the English batter may not be available for the entire season.

The team has also confirmed the signing of Usman Khan, the Pakistani right-handed batter who played for Chattogram Kings in the previous edition. Usman is expected to be available throughout the tournament.

Alongside foreign recruits, Dhaka has added two local players as part of the pre-auction direct signing window. The franchise has signed batter Saif Hassan and pacer Taskin Ahmed.
