In a big development, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has officially been put up for sale. Diageo, the UK-based company that owns RCB’s men’s IPL team and women’s WPL team, confirmed that it has started the process of selling its stakes in the franchise.

In a notice sent to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Wednesday, November 5, Diageo said it is conducting a “strategic review” of its investment in Royal Challengers Sports Pvt. Ltd (RCSPL), which is fully owned by Diageo’s Indian wing, United Spirits Limited (USL).

The company stated that RCSPL currently operates both RCB teams that play in the IPL and WPL each year under the BCCI.

It also mentioned that the sale process has already begun and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2026.
