The Bangladesh all-rounder continues to feature in franchise leagues across the globe, and in continuation of that, he is set to play in the United States’ Minor League Cricket.
Atlanta Fire had confirmed Shakib’s participation a few days ago, and now the former world No. 1 all-rounder in all three formats has himself announced the news. In a video message shared by the club on social media, Shakib said:
“I am delighted to announce that I have joined Atlanta Fire and will be playing Minor League Cricket for them. Another piece of good news is that Atlanta Cricket is the title sponsor of the 39th FOBANA convention. I wish FOBANA continued success, and I look forward to seeing you all soon.”
Currently, Shakib is playing for Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Though his batting form hasn’t quite clicked, he has been impressive with the ball. Once the CPL ends, he will head straight to the United States.
This year’s T20 tournament will run from August 28 to October 2, 2025.
