Rangpur Riders pulled off a stunning 1-run victory over BBL champions Hobart Hurricanes in a nail-biting clash of the Global Super League 2025, making it two wins in two and moving one step closer to the final.

Defending a modest target of 152, Rangpur held their nerve in the final overs. Hobart needed 22 runs off the last 12 balls, but Khaled Ahmed delivered a brilliant 19th over—conceding just 9 runs and taking two crucial wickets, including Fabian Allen and Raf MacMillan.

In the final over, Mohammad Nabi tried to finish the game himself, but Azmatullah Omarzai dismissed him on the fourth ball. With 4 needed off the final 2 balls, Usama Mir and Billy Stanlake couldn’t finish the chase, handing Rangpur a dramatic win.
Earlier, Kyle Mayers anchored the innings with a commanding 67 off 42 balls*, taking Rangpur to 151/6. Ibrahim Zadran supported with 43, while Usama Mir and Fabian Allen picked up 3 and 2 wickets respectively for Hobart.

In reply, Hobart’s chase started shakily as Bhanuka Rajapaksa fell early. Though Ben McDermott and Mack Wright steadied the innings, Rangpur hit back through Khaled Ahmed, who dismissed McDermott and later returned to pick up two more wickets in the 19th over, ending with 4 for 24.
