The upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), scheduled for December this year, could see the addition of new teams. Among the potential entrants, a company named Sayan's Global has officially applied to introduce a new franchise — Noakhali Royals.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been exploring options to expand the tournament, and Noakhali Royals may become one of the new faces in the league if the bid is approved.

Speaking to reporters today at Mirpur, London-based businessman Ahmed Jamil, who is behind the proposed new franchise, said; “We are fully prepared from our end. We know exactly what documentation is required to submit to the BCB, and we’ve already prepared everything. We hope the board will view our proposal positively and that it will fulfill the hopes and expectations of the people of Noakhali.”
As BPL prepares for its next edition in December, changes in franchise participation are expected.
Notably, Rajshahi—a team that took part in the previous season—will not be returning. The team’s ownership group, Valentine Group, faces multiple allegations, including failure to clear dues to players, prompting BCB to exclude them from the tournament.

In addition, Sylhet Strikers and Chattogram Kings are also uncertain to feature in the upcoming season. Their possible exit opens the door for the inclusion of new franchises.

One such contender is Bangla Tigers, an active franchise in various global T20 and T10 leagues including the Abu Dhabi T10, Sri Lanka T10, and Zimbabwe’s Zim Afro T10. The Tigers have expressed keen interest in acquiring ownership of the Chattogram franchise.
Among the previous season’s participants, Rangpur Riders, Fortune Barishal, and Dhaka Capitals are almost certain to continue in the league.
An official announcement from the BCB is expected soon, which will clarify the final list of participating teams in the next BPL season.
