Rangpur Riders announce strong squad for 2025 GSL title defense

Rangpur Riders lift first edition's title
Defending champions Rangpur Riders have officially confirmed their squad for the Guyana Global Super League (GSL), set to be held at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence from July 10 to 18.

In last year’s edition, the Riders had a rocky start—losing their first three matches—but bounced back remarkably to win their final three games and clinch the title. With powerful batting, consistent bowling, and composed leadership, Rangpur proved themselves worthy champions in a thrilling tournament.

Representing one of the most established franchises in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), the Riders bring a winning legacy to the GSL. After lifting the BPL trophy in 2017, they’ve maintained their presence as playoff contenders in recent seasons and are now aiming to defend their GSL crown.
Captain Nurul Hasan Sohan continues to lead the side, with key performers like Soumya Sarkar—who topped the run charts last season—and pace spearhead Kamrul Islam Rabbi retained for another campaign.

To strengthen the team, the Riders have also added international stars including West Indies opener Kyle Mayers, South African wrist-spinner Tabraiz Shamsi, Pakistani all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed, and Afghan top-order batter Ibrahim Zadran.
