Miraz gets NOC to join Lahore Qalandars for remaining PSL matches

Mehidy Hasan Miraz

According to a BCB source confirmed to Cricfrenzy, Miraz has been picked by Lahore as a replacement for Sikandar Raza for the remaining matches of PSL 2025. This will mark Miraz’s debut in an overseas franchise T20 league.

Raza played a key role for Lahore during the group stage, but is set to leave on May 22 for England to join Zimbabwe’s squad for the historic Test series in Nottingham. His departure, despite Lahore securing a playoff spot with 11 points from 10 matches, left a gap the team was eager to fill — leading them to turn to Bangladesh once again.
Rishad is no longer available due to national commitments, while Shakib — though already with the squad — is yet to regain full form since returning to competitive cricket. Considering Mehidy's current form for Bangladesh, the Qalandars view him as a valuable replacement for Raza.

Miraz reportedly applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Bangladesh Cricket Board this morning, and since he’s not in the current T20I squad, his request was quickly approved within a few hours.

Sources suggest that Miraz may fly to Pakistan today and could be available as early as Lahore’s next match on May 22. Fans may get to witness both Shakib and Miraz playing together in the same franchise side for the first time in a foreign league.
Meanwhile, another Bangladeshi, Mustafizur Rahman, continues his campaign with Delhi Capitals in the IPL.
