Despite a tidy bowling effort, Rishad couldn't steer his side to victory in a rain-shortened clash against Karachi Kings.

The rain-affected contest was reduced to 15 overs per side. Batting first, Lahore posted 160 for 5, with key contributions from Fakhar Zaman (51), Mohammad Naim (65), and Abdullah Shafique (18). Due to the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method, Karachi was handed a revised target of 168.

In defense of the total, Rishad bowled 3 overs for 28 runs and picked up a crucial wicket. His most economical spell came during a crunch phase when Karachi needed 66 runs from 5 overs. In that over, Rishad conceded only 8 runs, tightening the grip for Lahore.

However, Lahore’s hopes were dashed due to Haris Rauf’s expensive 14th over, which cost 20 runs.

Rishad's spell began promisingly when he dismissed James Vince in his first over. Vince, who had scored 13 off 12, was caught by Sikandar Raza at deep mid-wicket.

That over cost only 7 runs. However, in his next over, Pakistan batter Saad Baig went on the offensive, smashing a four and a six, making Rishad’s second over go for 13 runs.

Later, Daryl Mitchell removed the dangerous-looking Saad Baig, who had scored 25 off 15 balls. In his final over, Rishad again kept it tight, giving away just 8 runs without any wickets. His tight spell nearly set the match in Lahore’s favor.

Karachi’s chase began with a strong opening partnership between David Warner and Tim Seifert, who added 40 runs. Both were dismissed after scoring 24 off 10 balls each.

Despite losing wickets, Irfan Khan Niazi anchored the innings and led Karachi to victory, remaining unbeaten on 48 off just 21 balls.

The game slipped away from Lahore in the penultimate over, where Haris Rauf’s 20-run over proved too costly.

Although Mitchell dismissed Mohammad Nabi in the final over, Karachi sealed the win with five balls to spare, needing only 7 more runs.

On the bowling front, Abbas Afridi starred for Karachi with a four-wicket haul, while Mir Hamza, Hasan Ali, and Aamer Jamal took one wicket each.
