The pacer impressed with his pace during Pakistan's recent tour and a strong showing in the West Indies. In the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Nahid has also been in fine form for Rangpur Riders.
Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, boasts a strong lineup, including Saim Ayub, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Haris, Alzarri Joseph, and Najibullah Zadran.
However, Iftikhar Ahmed, who plays for Multan Sultans, had informed Rana before the draft that the team was considering picking him.
Despite being initially considered by Multan, Nahid expressed his delight at joining Azam's team.
"I had spoken to Iftikhar Ahmed before the draft, and he mentioned that I was being considered for their team. Eventually, I got picked by Babar Azam’s team. Alhamdulillah, I’m grateful for this opportunity." Nahid said to media today.
This marks Nahid's first opportunity in an overseas franchise league. Although he was overlooked in the IPL mega auction last December, the PSL selection is a significant milestone for him.
“A small opportunity can change a cricketer’s life. This is my first chance to play in a foreign franchise league, and I see it as a life-changing moment,” Nahid added.
