An intense moment during a high-stakes Bangladesh Premier League match between Sylhet Strikers and Khulna Tigers saw pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz involved in a physical and verbal argument. The incident has resulted in penalties for both players.

Sakib has been fined 15% of his match fee and handed three demerit points, while Nawaz escaped with only a fine, avoiding any demerit points.

The clash occurred during Khulna’s innings when Nawaz was dismissed off a slower delivery by Sakib. As Nawaz walked off, Sakib bumped into him, triggering a heated exchange of words between the two players.

On-field umpire intervention, along with Sylhet’s wicketkeeper George Munsey, was required to de-escalate the situation.

Match referee Ehsanul Haque Sejan reviewed the incident post-match. Since both players accepted the referee's decision, no formal hearing was necessary. While Sakib faced both a fine and demerit points, Nawaz’s punishment was limited to a financial penalty.
