Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Tuesday that they are ready to give no-objection certificate to Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah to take part in the Pakistan Super League.

The decision was taken considering their taking part in PSL does not clash with the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 tournament.

The duo can call them fortunate considering the upcoming Bangabandhu T20 tournament is pushed back by a week and now it is expected to start from the third week of October instead of November 15.

Earlier, BCB decided not to give NOC to any Bangladeshi cricketers to take part in Lanka Premier League as it was clashing with the upcoming T20 tournament while pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman can call himself unlucky as BCB denied him a NOC to participate in the Indian Premier League due to his obligations with the national side as they were preparing for Sri Lanka tour that eventually got postponed.

Lahore Qalanders have picked Tamim to replace Chris Lynn while Multan Sultans will be without Moeen Ali, and have replaced him with Mahmudullah.

‘’We have decided to allow them to go (for PSL) if they want to and that is under process as they have applied to us,’’ BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury told reporters adding that they are taking this positively despite the fact Mushfiqur Rahim opted not to travel to Pakistan citing security issues during their last tour.

‘’I think we should take this positively as we travelled Pakistan obviously with a dedicated security protocol. Obviously, there will be some travel advices for those who will travel and as they travelled Pakistan before I think they are completely aware,’’ he said.

On November 14, table-toppers Multan Sultan will take on Karachi Kings in the first qualifier, followed by the eliminator clash between Lahore Qalandar and Peshawar Zalmi. The second eliminator will be held on November 15, and the final on November 17.

Though they are expected to go and play in the PSL, BCB will have to seek special clearance from the government for them to reduce quarantine period so that they can take part in the upcoming domestic tournament like the way they did for their foreign coaches earlier.

‘’Whoever comes from abroad they need to follow the government guideline and apart from that we also have our own standard practise which we implemented during our last tournament for our foreign coaching and support staff. We will discuss with the government authorities whether we could proceed with the same procedure and work on,’’ he said.
