Although he had initially picked up a token for a potential team switch and held discussions with several clubs, disagreements over remuneration prevented him from signing with any of them.

There were also rumors linking Mustafizur with a move to the Indian Premier League (IPL), but those talks eventually fizzled out. During this period, he underwent Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy and took a two-week rest.

Post-Eid, Mustafizur was expected to return to action for Prime Bank Cricket Club. However, the team failed to qualify for the Super League, making it impossible for him to represent them in the next phase of the competition.

While the DPL continued in Dhaka, Mustafizur, who is not part of the Test squad, stayed back and trained at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, while the national team camped in Sylhet for the two-Test series against Zimbabwe.

Ahead of the DPL Super League, which begins on April 17, Mustafizur has been training with Mohammedan Sporting Club.

According to reliable sources within the club, an agreement is imminent. A club official confirmed to Cricfrenzy, “We’ve had discussions with Mustafizur. We’ll be signing the contract with him officially tomorrow, and he will play for us in the Super League matches.”

Mohammedan had earlier signed pacer Taskin Ahmed before the DPL began. However, Taskin was ruled out after a few matches due to an ankle injury.

Since then, the club has relied on Ebadot Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Abu Hider Rony to carry the pace attack. The inclusion of Mustafizur now adds significant strength to Mohammedan’s bowling lineup as they gear up for the crucial Super League phase.
