Chennai Super Kings’ key player Faf du Plessus compared the young talent Ruturaj Gaikwad to Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, citing that the youngster can perform with ease under the pressure too.
Gaikwad heroics once again helped his side as CSK ended their IPL 2020 campaign with a nine-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab on Sunday (November 1) and the dashing opener ended the innings with an unbeaten 62 off 49 balls, after having scores of unbeaten 65 and 72 in the last two matches. He helped CSK chase down a target of 154 with nine wickets and nearly two overs in hand at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium as well.

"He (Gaikwad) looks like a young Virat Kohli doesn't he? What stands out for me the most is is his composure. Pressure situations don't really get to him. That is always pleasing to see in a young guy and looks like he has a bright future," Faf du Plessis said after the match.
The veteran was at the other end and happily played the second fiddle in the chase. He was close to scoring a half-century but was dismissed while trying for a scoop shot off Chris Jordan and KL Rahul did no mistake behind the stumps.
"That scoop is the shot I play often and quite bummed that I couldn't get it but pleased for us to finish the season with a win," he said.
Notably, Gaikwad was one of those two cricketers who tested positive for the global pandemic novel COVID-19 after reaching Dubai. After recovering he played in three games but failed to impress. On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings became the first team to be out of the IPL playoff race for the very time in the history of the league.
