England’s new pace bowling sensation Jofra Archer claimed that he has been victimised by racism due to his breaching of COVID-19 protocols. Archer left the biosecurity protocol before the second Test at Old Trafford on Monday and had an unauthorised trip to his home which resulted in his omission from the main eleven.
He, however, says that he was racially abused after his breach and now he is struggling to get into the right frame of mind to play the last match of the series on Friday at Old Trafford, Manchester after he got the clearance to play.
The 25-year-old said that he had not ‘committed a crime’ that he had to face racist criticism on social media.
“I need to be 100 percent mentally right so that I can throw myself into my cricket this week,” Jofra Archer wrote.

“If I play and don’t bowl 90 miles an hour it’s going to be news. If I don’t bowl 90 miles per hour for long enough it's going to be news,” Jofra wrote on his instagram handle.
He also added that the England team had a bunch of bowling resources if he is not ready to return.
“I give 100 percent every time I go out there and I don't want to go out on the field unless I can guarantee doing that,” the England’s new pace sensation said.
Archer, who has already been a subject to racist abuse by a spectator during the New Zealand tour last year, stated that he would no longer tolerate such comments online.
“Some of the abuse I have taken over the past few days on Instagram has been racist and I have decided that enough is enough... so I have forwarded my complaints to the ECB (England and Wales Cricket Board),” Arched added.
“I know what I did was an error of judgment and I have suffered the consequences of that,” the young paceman said.
“I haven’t committed a crime and I want to start feeling myself again,” he concluded.
