The star batter missed the opening Test in Mirpur because of a knee injury, where Pakistan suffered a 104-run defeat.
However, speaking at the pre-match press conference on Thursday, Sarfaraz said Babar has recovered and is ready for the series-deciding match.
“Babar Azam is available for the second Test. We will finalise the playing XI after assessing the conditions at the toss,” Sarfaraz said.
The Pakistan coach admitted the team was disappointed after the loss in Dhaka but expressed confidence in bouncing back strongly in Sylhet.
“We are obviously disappointed with the result of the first Test, but the team is focused on making a strong comeback,” he added.
Sarfaraz also brushed aside criticism from former cricketers and reactions on social media following Pakistan’s defeat.
“Criticism is part of cricket whenever results go against you. Comments from former players or discussions on social media are not affecting the dressing room. Our focus is completely on the next Test,” he said.
