Bangladesh’s veteran cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim received special honours ahead of his landmark 100th Test, marking a historic moment at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Former Bangladesh captain Habibul Bashar, who had also presented Mushfiqur his cap on debut, once again had the honour of handing him a commemorative cap for his 100th Test.

Former national captain Akram Khan also presented a special gift on the occasion.

BCB president Aminul Islam Bulbul and Nazmul Abedin handed Mushfiqur a crest, while Bashar and Nazmul gifted him a special jersey signed by his teammates from both his first Test and his 100th Test.

Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto praised the milestone:

“Brilliant achievement, bhai. You have inspired us. Your hard work, both on and off the field, has been truly inspiring. You always think about the team. It’s a great example for every young cricketer who wants to play Test cricket.”

Mushfiqur Rahim’s words:

“I would like to thank all of you, my family and especially my wife, who has spent many sleepless nights for me. My teammates, coaches, friends back home, and all my fans… thank you. I wish the very best for Bangladesh cricket. I will continue to give my 100%, as I always try. My thanks to the Ireland team as well for being here, and hopefully we’ll have a great Test match to celebrate. Thank you very much. Special thanks to the Ireland team.”
