Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Nurul Hasan Sohan is set to remain sidelined for at least three weeks after failing to recover from the ankle injury he sustained during the final ODI against West Indies in Chattogram.

Sohan was stretchered off the field in the 11th over of the West Indies innings. Following initial treatment and an X-ray at a local hospital, he had a plaster cast applied before returning to the team hotel that night.

An MRI scan later confirmed the extent of the damage. According to a BCB medical source, he is expected to make his return for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland.

Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam also suffered a hamstring injury during the same match and has been advised to rest for at least 15 days, as confirmed by the BCB medical department.

Shoriful sustained his injury after bowling just two overs and could not continue. Bangladesh eventually lost the final ODI by five wickets, suffering a 3–0 whitewash in the series. However, the Tigers had earlier clinched the ODI series 2–1 against the visitors.
