Mahmudullah, who retired from all formats of international cricket earlier this year but still plays domestic tournaments, recently represented Dhaka Metro in the NCL T20.
His wife, Jannatul Kawsar, asked for prayers on Facebook, saying, “When Allah loves someone, He tests them with trials and hardships. Alhamdulillah for everything. Allah is merciful. Please keep him (Mahmudullah Riyad) in your prayers. Allahumma barik lahu.”
However, once fully recovered, he is expected to begin preparations for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
