Among them, former BCB director Iftekhar Rahman Mithu and former national team wicketkeeper-batter Khaled Mashud Pilot collected forms. Pilot collected his nomination under Category-1.
Meanwhile, Tamim Iqbal, one of Bangladesh’s most celebrated captains and batters, has officially stepped into the fray by collecting his nomination from Old DOHS under Club Category-2.
In Category-3, Debabrata Pal from Jahangirnagar University and Sirajuddin Mohammad Alamgir from Chittagong University collected their forms, while former cricketer Zulfikar Ali Khan submitted his form from Khulna District Sports Association.
According to the election schedule, candidates must submit their nomination papers by September 28.
From Khulna Division, Abdur Razzak has become a councillor and collected his nomination under Category-1 after stepping down from the Bangladesh men's team selection panel.
Meanwhile, the current BCB president, Aminul Islam Bulbul has also collected his nomination from Dhaka Division and Nazmul Abedin Fahim has submitted his nomination.
Withdrawal of candidacy will be allowed until October 1, when the final candidate list will be published at 2 PM.
The election will take place on October 6 at a Dhaka hotel from 10 AM to 4 PM, with results to be announced the same evening at 6 PM. The election of the president and vice-presidents will follow at 7:30 PM.
