David Scott was scheduled to join Bangladesh as a sports psychologist in the first week of August, ahead of the Netherlands series and the Asia Cup.

However, despite a three-week training camp already being completed, Scott has yet to arrive, and his participation before the Asia Cup now seems highly unlikely. Reliable sources have confirmed to Cricfrenzy that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already started looking for an alternative.
Simmons: Criticism inevitable if Bangladesh lose to Netherlands

With the Asia Cup approaching, BCB is making every effort to ensure Litton Das, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, and the rest of the squad have no shortcomings in their preparation.
Recently, the board appointed Julian Wood as a power-hitting coach to sharpen the batting unit’s aggressive play. Around the same time, they also announced the agreement with Scott to work as the team’s psychologist.
The intention was clear, to help cricketers improve both their performance and behavioral aspects through psychological support.

Scott had assured BCB that he would work with the Tiger players as he was supposed to arrive weeks ago, but complications regarding leave approval have kept him from traveling.
Currently employed as a lecturer at a university in Canada, Scott has not been granted the necessary leave, making his arrival before the Asia Cup almost impossible. Though he has expressed willingness to work with Bangladesh after the tournament, BCB insists on his presence beforehand.
This has forced the board to explore alternative options. A BCB source told Cricfrenzy, “If he cannot come when we need him, then he has no role with the national team. Negotiations are ongoing, but the chances are slim.”
Despite the absence of a psychologist, Bangladesh players have been working on other skill sets during the training camp.
Following the three-week preparation, the Tigers are set to face the Netherlands in a three-match T20I series starting on August 30. The remaining two matches will be played in Sylhet on September 1 and 3.
