Taskin has been accused of assaulting a childhood friend and a General Diary (GD) has been filed at Mirpur Model Police Station yesterday.
Speaking to Cricbuzz, BCB’s Media Committee Chairman Iftekhar Ahmed said: "We’re planning a short workshop for the cricketers in August. It’s important to remind them what they can and cannot do. They’re not just players — they’re role models for many young people. Therefore, they must be held accountable to the public."
Despite the GD filed against Taskin, the BCB has stated it will not take any immediate action until the police investigation concludes.
"Taskin has not been proven guilty yet. It is currently a police matter, not a board issue," Iftekhar clarified.
The complaint was lodged by Sifatur Rahman Sourav, who stated that Taskin summoned him near the Sony Cinema Hall in Mirpur, where he was allegedly punched and threatened. Police confirmed that the incident was mentioned in the GD.F
Taskin, however, told media outlets including Cricfrenzy, that the accusations are false.
