Taskin Ahmed denies assault allegations

Bangladesh national team pacer Taskin Ahmed has come under serious allegations after a complaint was filed against him for allegedly assaulting and threatening an individual in Dhaka’s Mirpur-1 area.

The incident reportedly took place last night, and the alleged victim, Sifatur Rahman Saurav — said to be a friend of Taskin — has filed a General Diary (GD) at Mirpur Model Police Station.

According to the complaint, Taskin allegedly called Saurav to a location and physically assaulted him while also issuing threats. However, police have yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
Talking to Cricfrenzy, Taskin has categorically denied all allegations, calling them false and claiming he has been framed.

“All the allegations made against me are false. I haven’t done anything to anyone. This is an attempt to trap me,” Taskin said.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has responded to the incident, with director and Chairman of the Umpires Committee, Iftekhar Rahman Mithu, confirming that an internal investigation is underway.
He acknowledged having seen the news in the media and noted that such controversies are highly inappropriate for a player of Taskin’s stature.
