Afghanistan likely to play against Bangladesh in October

Bangladesh vs Afghanistan
Afghanistan are likely to host Bangladesh for a three-match T20I series in the UAE this October, as both boards look to fine-tune preparations ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.

While the exact dates are yet to be finalized, ESPNcricinfo reports that the series is expected to be played after the Asia Cup in September and before Bangladesh’s scheduled home series against West Indies in the third week of October.

This series is intended to complete the second leg of a bilateral engagement originally scheduled for July 2024. The initial itinerary included two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is.
The ODI portion of the tour was eventually held in November 2024, where Afghanistan clinched the series 2-1. Discussions are ongoing between the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) to reschedule the two Tests sometime in 2025.

It will serve as a key component of Bangladesh's build-up to the T20 World Cup, which is set to take place across India and Sri Lanka in February-March 2026.
