Despite a hard-fought win in the second T20I against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh’s batting struggles have shown no sign of improvement — and questions are now being raised about the effectiveness of the coaching staff.

But instead of accepting responsibility, Bangladesh’s senior assistant coach Mohammad Salahuddin, known to work closely with the batters, has refused to take the blame for the ongoing crisis.

2 hrs agoSpeaking at a press conference on Tuesday ahead of the final T20I, Salahuddin appeared visibly irritated when asked about the criticism aimed at him.
“If someone claims there are many complaints against me after 27–28 years of coaching, they better submit them in writing. Public allegations won’t help. Give me proof, and I’ll correct myself. I know who I am and whether I’ve been honest in my role.”
When asked further about accountability, he added, “I have no ego. This team isn’t my family property that I must hold on to this job. I didn’t come here of my own will either.”

So far this year, Bangladesh have played five ODIs — and failed to cross 250 in any of them. In four out of five matches, they failed to bat through the full 50 overs, being bowled out before reaching the end. Even in the lone match where they weren’t all out, they still lost nine wickets.
