Following strong domestic performances, pace-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been recalled to Bangladesh’s T20I squad

Saifuddin last played in the Zimbabwe series and has now earned his spot back after a solid run in the BPL and Dhaka Premier League (DPL).

Joining him is left-handed opener Mohammad Naim Sheikh, who has been in prolific form across formats. Naim shone in the recently concluded NCL T20s, leading Dhaka Metro to the final and scoring 316 runs at a strike rate of 135.04, including three fifties.

His BPL campaign with Khulna Tigers was equally impressive, where he scored 511 runs in 14 matches at a 143.94 strike rate, including one century and three half-centuries.

Thanks to this consistent run, Naim was recently recalled to the ODI side and now rejoins the T20I setup after last playing against Afghanistan in August 2022.

However, one of the notable omissions from the squad is Najmul Hossain Shanto. The left-hander, who recently stepped down from Test captaincy, has been left out of the T20I squad despite being a regular across formats in recent months.
