His unbeaten stand with debutant Tanzim Hasan Sakib solidified the hosts’ dominance, helping Bangladesh post a commanding first-innings total of 444.
Miraz scored a brilliant 104 off 160 balls, decorated with 11 boundaries and a six, marking his second Test century. Tanzim also impressed on debut, narrowly missing out on a fifty with a fighting 41.
Earlier, Taijul Islam added a useful 20 before being stumped off Vincent Masekesa, who finished with figures of 5 for 115.

Together, Miraz and Tanzim added 96 runs for the ninth wicket, frustrating Zimbabwe’s bowlers and stretching Bangladesh’s lead to 217 runs.

Facing a daunting deficit on a turning track, Zimbabwe faltered from the outset in their second innings. Miraz and Taijul mounted relentless pressure, with the former wreaking havoc to claim 5 for 32.
Taijul, who had taken six wickets in the first innings, chipped in with three more, while Nayeem Hasan picked up one wicket and another came via a run-out.
Despite a lone resistance from veteran opener Ben Curran, who delayed the inevitable with a gritty knock, Zimbabwe were eventually bowled out for 111, falling well short and unable to push the match into the fourth day.
The comprehensive win ended Bangladesh’s seven-match winless streak in Tests and highlighted Miraz’s growing stature as a premier all-rounder in the longest format.
