The ACC operation at various Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) departments lasted for around one and a half hours. Later, during a press briefing, ACC Assistant Director stated that they are currently investigating three separate allegations. During the briefing, BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury assured full cooperation from the board's side.
According to a letter from the ACC headquarters, the enforcement team was sent in response to complaints involving corruption and illegal financial transactions during the selection processes of various BCB-run cricket leagues.
Additionally, the ACC official mentioned that the two other allegations under investigation are inconsistencies in ticket revenue from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and alleged embezzlement of funds during the Mujib Centenary celebrations.
Following the raid, ACC Assistant Director stated to the media, “We received complaints regarding irregularities in team selection, particularly during the third division qualifying round of various cricket leagues. Based on those reports, we carried out this enforcement operation.”

He further explained that in the 2023 third division qualifiers, the entry fee was set at BDT 500,000, and only two or three teams applied. This year, the fee was reduced to BDT 100,000, resulting in over 60 team applications.
“This sharp contrast raises suspicions of corruption in previous years aimed at limiting participation. We’ve collected the necessary documents and will investigate the matter thoroughly,” the official added.
The ACC also uncovered alleged irregularities in ticket sales. According to Hasan, “From the third to the tenth editions of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), BCB reported ticket revenue of BDT 15 crore in total. However, in this year’s 11th edition alone, where BCB handled ticket sales directly, the revenue was nearly BDT 13 crore. This discrepancy suggests a lack of proper accounting in previous seasons.”
The ACC team collected several documents from the BCB office for verification and will prepare a detailed report after reviewing the materials.
