BCB launches investigation into DPL’s controversial match

The main focus of the discussion has been the dismissal of Shinepukur’s last batter, Minhajul Abedin Sabbir. Seeing Minhajul advance down the pitch, Gulshan’s bowler Naim Islam deliberately bowled a wide. Minhajul had enough time to bring his bat back into the crease before the ball reached the wicketkeeper.

Initially, Gulshan’s keeper Alif Hasan missed the stumping, and though Minhajul managed to get his bat over the crease line, it remained airborne the entire time. Despite having ample opportunity, his failure to ground the bat properly led to heavy criticism.
Another questionable incident occurred earlier in the 36th over. Rahim Ahmed was dismissed while trying to play a delivery from Nihad Uz Zaman that turned sharply after pitching wide outside the crease. Rahim made no real attempt to defend or return to safety, raising further suspicions.

The BCB has acknowledged these incidents and stated, "The BCB wishes to reiterate its firm commitment to upholding the integrity of the game and maintaining the highest ethical standards in cricket. The Board has a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of corruption or misconduct that may compromise the spirit of the sport.”

"The BCB Anti-Corruption Unit and the League's Technical Committee have promptly initiated an investigation into the alleged irregularities associated with the match. The BCB remains committed to ensuring fairness and discipline in all cricketing activities under its jurisdiction and will take the necessary actions based on the findings of the investigation” statement added.
Videos of the two controversial dismissals quickly spread across social media. Former national captain Shahriar Nafees shared the clips, simply writing, "Disgraceful!" Cricketer Shamsur Rahman also posted, commenting, "Seriously shameful."
