Bangladesh first division cricketers meet president

Players and captains from 15 of the 20 teams participating in the Meghna Bank Dhaka First Division Cricket League met with Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Faruque Ahmed today at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

According to a BCB press release, the cricketers voiced their concerns regarding the uncertainty surrounding the league’s resumption.

In response, the BCB President acknowledged the league's significance for the players’ careers and livelihoods and assured them that the board is committed to making every effort to restart the competition as soon as feasibly possible.

The league has been on hold following recent tensions between Dhaka-based cricket clubs and the BCB over proposed constitutional changes.
