Opener Tanjid Tamim scored run-a-ball 74 coupled by Towhid Ridoy and Shamim Patwary’s half-century helped Team B earn a comfortable six-wicket win over Team A in the lone 50-over intra-squad match of High Performance Unit at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Saturday.

 Team A skipper Afif Hossain won the toss and elected to bat and looked set to put up a fighting total on the board but a disciplined bowling display by their opponent’s bowling unit restricted them to 240-7.

Nayeem Sheikh scored highest 67 while Afif made 50 but none other could come up with the fire work in the end to take the score beyond the reach of their rival.

Mukidol Islam and Rezaul Raja grabbed two wickets apiece while Rishad and Shamim grabbed one wicket each for Team A.

In reply, Tanjid laid the foundation with a superb knock that consist nine fours and two sixes while Towhid and Shamim added unbroken 106 runs for fifth wicket to take them home.
