Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is likely to skip the mandatory quarantine after arriving in Bangladesh from the USA, said Bangladesh Cricket Board officials on Wednesday.
BCB chief physician Debashis Chowdhury said that the board has requested the health authorities to excuse Shakib from the quarantine if he tests free of the virus after landing in Dhaka.

‘‘We have given a letter to DGHS. He [Shakib] will be boarding the airplane with a corona negative certificate. After arrival, he will again be tested in a DGHS approved lab. If he tests negative again, only then he may not need quarantine. That is the general practice,’ said Debashish.
BCB has already included Shakib as one of the 113 cricketers who will have to appear for a fitness test on November 9 and 10 at the indoor centre of the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium to prove their eligibility for the Twenty20 Cup.
Shakib is scheduled to land in Dhaka on Thursday night to take part in the upcoming Bangabandhu Twenty20 Cup.
