Shakib set to give fitness test on November 9

Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Wednesday that all-rounder Shakib al Hasan is all set to take part in the upcoming fitness test to make himself eligible for the forthcoming Bangabandhu T20.
BCB decided that players’ selection in the draft list for the upcoming T20 tournament in November-December will have to undergo a mandatory fitness test before being considered eligible for the competition.

Shakib, who is free to take part in competitive cricket following the one-year ban imposed by ICC for failing to report corrupt approach was lifted on October 29, will be putting his first step towards resuming his career by taking part in the fitness test.
The test, scheduled on November 9 and 10, has been planned to particularly assess the fitness levels of cricketers outside the National Team, High Performance Team and Under 19 set ups.
The mandatory test is being conducted to determine the fitness levels of players who are expected to be in the draft for the forthcoming T20 tournament.
‘’The cricketers are requested to report 30 minutes ahead of their respective test times to BCB Strength & Conditioning coaches at the Indoor Centre of Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS), Mirpur. For individual safety and as a precaution against Covid-19, the players arriving at the SBNCS premises for fitness test are further advised to wear masks, maintain social distance and carry their own hand sanitisers,’’ BCB said in a statement on Wednesday.
