Bangladesh Cricket Board official said on Wednesday that they will soon send a Covid-19 management plan to West Indies Cricket in relation ahead of their se scheduled Bangladesh tour, slated from January 2021.

Cricket was at hold in the country since mid-March due to Covid-19 until the national team had regrouped for the tour of Sri Lanka which after getting cancelled was replaced by a three-team 50-over tournament that completed earlier this week.

BCB is now planning to hold a five-team T20 tournament next month and these domestic tournaments are played maintaining strict health protocol and a bio-security bubble developed by BCB medical team.

There was no compromise of the health security during the three-team 50-over tournament and a similar plan is to be in place for the T20 tournament which will involve a bigger group of players and team officials.

BCB is taking these steps to make a plan of action that is likely to be executed while hosting West Indies.

BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury informed media on Wednesday that a decision on the series will finally be taken after the BCB has sent their plan and CWI approved it.

“You have already seen the three-team tournament held. Now we are aiming to have a five-team tournament which will be followed by an international series as per the ICC FTP [Future Tour Program]. We are scheduled to host West Indies [in January next],” Nizamuddin told media at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

“We are in touch with West Indies cricket board. We will soon send them our Covid-19 management plan. Then we the two boards will discuss and come to a decision,” said the BCB CEO.

West Indies are schedule to tour Bangladesh in January-February for a full series involve three Tests, three ODIs and two T20Is.
