No mediocre foreign cricketers in domestic T20 tournament- BCB

Bangladesh Cricket Board officials said on Monday that they are not willing to bring mediocre foreign cricketers in the upcoming domestic T20 tournament.
Though it is yet to be finalized whether the upcoming domestic T20 tournament that is expected to start following the ongoing BCB Presidents Cup will be a corporate tournament or sponsored by the BCB but it is confirmed that this tournament is going to take place.

Apart from that, almost everything is final regarding the five-team tournament where at least 75 local players can feature if no foreign cricketers are allowed to participate.
BCB is yet to take a decision I we were unable to take a decision on whether they would allow foreign players or not but BCB official insisted that even if they allow foreign cricketers their standards have to be better than the leading cricketers of the country.
‘’We want super star [foreign cricketers] should come to play the tournament. If their standard is below our top level cricketers than we won’t consider them,’’ said BCB director Khaled Mahmud on Monday.
‘’To be honest we have not got any such names and if don’t get that kind of names we will do with local cricketers because we want foreign cricketers who can inspire the team otherwise there is no point bringing them,’’ he added.
