Delhi Capitals’ wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has currently been out of the squad due to the leg injury, but the positive part is he has improved a lot with the bat and plays more shots on the off-side. And, this made his personal coach Tarak Sinha quite happy as well and he called Pant a "more sensible" cricketer now.
The left-hander was in a good form in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2020. However, he faced criticism for playing mostly on the on-side and was considered weak on the offside too. But a lot of practice and his effort to get in the zone after the COVID-imposed lockdown break was lifted, has paid off certainly.

"Earlier, he would play lofted shots on the onside. But now he is playing shots on the offside too and is hitting boundaries as well. From a cricketer's point, the difference is visible. The change is there, though a big score hasn't come so far in this IPL," Sinha, the winner of Dronacharya Award revealed recently.
"We haven't met face to face for more than six months due to Covid. He was at his home in Roorkee during the lockdown. After unlock, he practiced in Gurgaon and Ghaziabad, along with Suresh Raina and Piyush Chawla, because we were not having practice at our club in Delhi as a precautionary measure," further shared Sinha, who runs the famous cricket club - Sonnet Club.
Sinha said that the youngster is maturing as a cricketer and playing quite well too. He also added that there is nothing wrong with his game. However, he also stressed that Pant doesn’t get many balls to play what the top-orders - Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer are getting and they all are doing well.
Meanwhile, Pant has so far scored 176 runs in six matches which came at a strike rate of 133.33. Currently, Delhi Capitals are in second place in the points table with 10 points.
