Bangladesh Cricket Board introduced a green zone and red zone in the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium as coronavirus precaution through the resumption of their individual training after a five-day break on Thursday. Meanwhile, BCB opted to halt the ongoing individual training session from September 3 after corona-like symptoms were detected among some of their supporting staff.

To avert health hazard and no more infection in practice prior to the upcoming Sri Lanka tour, BCB decided to introduce green and red zone during the individual training session resumes as well as have four phase corona test instead of three that they planned initially.

While BCB had already completed first-round of their four-phase corona test, they also looked determined to introduce the green zone as part of corona precaution as cricketers were seen divided into two dressing rooms instead of gathering in one dressing room that remained the custom so far.

Earlier, BCB decided to stop individual practice sessions as part of COVID-19 precaution, with some of the support staff showing symptoms and now the board insisted that the individual training session will start from September 9.

BCB were initially reluctant to allow cricketers to train but eventually agreed, due to the insistence of a few national cricketers as they were eager to start training to prepare for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.

BCB is planning a week-long residential camp ahead of the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. The residential camp is set to begin on September 21 while the BCB will conduct a COVID-19 Tests in four phases prior to the tour with the last two tests taking within a gap of one day just before they depart for island.

The green zones will be limited for players and support staff along with some members of the BCB think tank while the field, dressing room and gym will be a part of green zone as BCB considers them to be a safe zone.

For the time being, accredited persons will be allowed to come and go from the green zone but once the team is selected and we start the residential camp and they enter into the bio bubble - it will be constrained and they will not be allowed to go out of the bubble.

"We have divided the stadium into red and green zone and no one can enter the green zone and players will walk in the green zone area and to enter the green zone one must show their accreditation card[ that is all set to be handed to respective individuals as soon as possible," said BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury.

However, BCB is planning a week-long residential camp ahead of the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. The residential camp is set to begin on September 21 while the BCB will conduct COVID-19 tests in four phases, with three tests scheduled on September 18, 21 and 24 and the final test 72 hours before they take the flight to Sri Lanka.
