Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo hinted that he is waiting to hear from Bangladesh Cricket Board regarding his immediate future. It was learnt that BCB received verbal approval for the government approval of their foreign support staff that paves way for the members of the team management to join the individual training session as none were seen in the first day of the fifth phase training on Wednesday.

BCB need special permission from the Directorate General of Health Services in order to have the service of foreign coaching staffs at the individual training session as there is a rule in place that mandates foreign travellers to go through a 14-day mandatory quarantine period before resuming their work in the country.

Unless that permission is granted they cannot be part of an individual training session as the head coach Russell Domingo and fielding coach Ryan Cook arrived from South Africa on September 6 while bowling coach Ottis Gibson has arrived on September 8.

Domingo told the Daily Sun that they are waiting to hear from BCB about their immediate future when he was asked whether he will be available from the second day of fifth-phase training.

Bangladesh's upcoming tour of Sri Lanka, which was earlier scheduled for July-August, was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Bangladesh are expected to travel to Sri Lanka on September 27 for the three-match Test series that is scheduled to start in Kandy from October 24.
