Bangladesh Test skipper Mominul Haque is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that he can contribute with the bat abroad as he failed to shine overseas in the recent past.

While Mominul scored a century in the last Test against Zimbabwe at home he remained a pale shadow of himself during the tour of India and Pakistan earlier as those six innings went without scoring a half-century.

Nazmul Abedin and Mohammad Salauddin, the duo working with Shakib al Hasan, worked out with him at BKSP considering they were involved with the BKSP when Mominul was enrolled in the lone sports organization of the country.

‘’Yes I went to BKSP twice and did some drill there under the supervision of Faim[ Nazmul] and Salauddin Sir and planning to go there for couple of more time in the coming days[ before the Test series],’’ said Mominul.

‘’They have seen me growing and they can understand my problem quite easily than others and so just wanted to check out with them about my batting,’’ he said.

Nazmul Abedin said that they have worked with him and added that there was no shortage of confidence despite he is not scoring many runs abroad.

‘’I don’t think he is lacking any confidence because mentally he looks good and sounds ok. He is trying a few things but that does not imply that he will execute it immediately. If he feels he needs those things he will implement it otherwise not,’’ said Nazmul.

‘’We can get a better notion of him in the coming days as he is expected to do few more session with us,’’ he said adding that he does not want him to change his batting style or philosophy [of taking time before coming out of the shell] as that suits him best considering some cricket experts believe the left-hander is trying too many things instead of just following that the paid dividend for him.

‘’He has his own style and he must follow his own rules,’’ said Nazmul.

The Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka which was scheduled for July-August was postponed because of the COVID-19 situation. Bangladesh are expected to travel to Sri Lanka on September 27 for the three-Test series that is scheduled to start in Kandy from October 24.
