Mehedi Hasan Rana, a young and sensational find of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Twenty20 blockbuster Twenty20 Cricket Tournament, said he is pouring his sweats regularly to keep him ready to return to competitive cricket.

The young pacer shot to the limelight in the last BPL, where he bowled stunningly for Chattogram Challengers. He picked 18 wickets off 10 matches with an average of 15.83.

He didn’t take much time to come under the radar of the selectors though he is yet to get any chance to play in an international match.

Bangladesh will play a three-match Test series in Sri Lanka in October-November. It is a matter of watching when he gets a call from the national team and when his dream comes true.

Of course, the pacer said he did not see the matter in such a way that he targets the Sri Lanka series rather he is practicing with an aim to prepare himself for any type of cricket.

“Actually I am working where white-ball or red-ball is not a factor.  I am agreed to play wherever I get a chance to play whether it’s red-ball cricket or white-ball cricket. I want to prepare myself for the both formats of crickets,” Mehedi Hasan said.

“If I don’t get a chance to play this time around, I will try to take my preparation for the next games. It may be first class cricket or any format of game under the auspices of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

The players across the world had to stay at home for so long due to the devastating coronavirus pandemic. The pacer said he tries his best to do his work through utilising the time having stayed at home.

“There were no games during the lockdown for corona. So I work as much as I can. I am trying to get me back in the field right now,” he said.

“The fitness is still in good stead by the grace of Allah. It’ll be developed further after doing some sessions in the next time. There was a big break after BPL. I are working on bowling and getting fitness back after the break,” he also said.

“I’m bowling both red-ball and white-ball, where I am doing what is needed for them. I’m bowling what is necessary to do in red-ball cricket. I’m now working on swing and variation with white ball. Everything is going well, Alhamdulillah,” he added.
