Training at center wickets starts today

The real training has started at the center wickets of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Mirpur today.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has introduced the new module of ‘Small Group Training’ after the third-phased ‘Individual Training Sessions’ in order to bring its national players back to the cricket field.
The apex body of the country’s cricket has chalked out a multi-phased training mechanism before returning to competitive cricket amid the growing concerns of the highly contagious COVID-19 ahead of the Sri Lanka Test series.
More than 23 players including 18 males and 5 female cricketers took part in the combined training sessions at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) of the SBNCS in Mirpur today.
Of them, a total of 10 batsmen and 8 bowlers took part from the male national cricket team.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mushafiqur Rahim and middle-order batsman Mohammad Mithun held their individual batting sessions at the center wickets of the SBNCS at 10:40 am and 9:30 am respectively.
Pacer Mehedi Hasan Rana, spinner Taijul Islam and leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob did their small group training from 9:30am-11:40am.
Therefore, wicketkeeper-batsman Liton Kumar Das and opener Tamim Iqbal held their new individual batting at 11:50am and 1:00pm correspondingly.
All-rounders Mahmudullah Riyad and Soumya Sarkar came to hold their individual batting after the conclusion of the pair –Liton and Tamim, who joined the training session after the Eid vacation due to his severe pain.
Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed, Shafiul islam and Al Amin Hossain held their small group training sessions from 2:30pm-4:20pm.
Women’s team’s batters Shamim Sultana and Sharmin Supta did their individual training, while pacer Jahanara Alam, Nahida Akhtar and Lata Mondol also held their small group training sessions at the BNCS.
The BCB earlier appointed a women’s trainer Jannatul Ferdaous Boishakhi for the women’s players.
In addition, the training mechanism was opened with ‘Individual Training Sessions’ on July 19. Initially it was limited to only batting, running and gym works for the batsmen, while running and gym works for the bowlers.
The batsmen were busy in the Mirpur Indoors and Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) to hone their batting skills and techniques, while bowlers were passing hectic schedules at the national Cricket Academy of the SBNCS.
Therefore, a total of three phases ‘Individual Training Sessions’ were held before and after the holy Eid vacation. The BCB added the new phase of training ‘Small Group Training’ in the fourth phase beside ‘Individual Training Sessions.’
