Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is searching for a batting coach or consultant across the formats ahead of their upcoming international assignment after batting consultant Neil McKenzie is not agreed to come here in Bangladesh from South Africa during the coronavirus pandemic.
Bangladesh have a three-match Test series in Sri Lanka in between October and November that is crucial for them as it is a part of the World Test Championship (WTC).

“McKenzie was for our white-ball cricket. He also agreed to work for the red-ball cricket before the COVID-19,” BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said.
“As it is a Test series in Sri Lanka, we need a batting coach. He wishes to stay with his family to overcome the situation. Our next red-ball cricket in January, we have then needed a red-ball cricket coach,” Chowdhury told Cricfrenzy.com.
“Probably he will not continue with us. We will soon publish a media release after being finalized the matter with him,” he added.
It’s learnt that a string of coaches across the world expressed their keen interest to work with Tigers in Bangladesh. New Zealand coach Craig Douglas McMillan’s name among the interested coaches is being heard as front-runner.
“He is not supposed to come for our white-ball because we had an agreement with him for only white-ball cricket. We’ll not go for double coaches. If we can find anyone in the meantime, we will then finalise it,” BCB CEO said further.
