Bangladesh's Test pace bowler Abu Jayed said on Wednesday that their fitness is improving with every passing day but insisted that it will take time to regain the bowling fitness.
Jayed is expected to lead the pace attack against Sri Lanka in the upcoming tour in September where the tourist will be engaged in a three-match series against the host that is part of ICC World Test Championship.
All cricketing activities were closed in Bangladesh since the outbreak of global pandemic novel coronavirus in March and resumed on a minimum scale thorough the ongoing individual training session late last month.

Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka which was scheduled for July-August, comprising three Tests, was postponed indefinitely because of the COVID-19 situation. Bangladesh will travel to Sri Lanka on September 28 as BCB is planning to hold a one-week preparation camp from September 21 before leaving that will be Tigers' first three-match Test series in six years.
"It will take time to gain the bowling fitness," Jayed said on Wednesday.
"Now we are working on our bowling here," he told.
"I think the fitness is good and it is improving with passing days because when we started practice two weeks ago we were thinking what will happen but now after we started running along with indoor and outdoor activities it went up," he added.
"We have the opportunity to do hill running and it is helping regarding improving our fitness," he further shared.
