Bangladesh Cricket Board said on Tuesday that they not willing to take the responsibility of Mushfiqur Rahim, who opted to do practice individually at a private place ignoring BCB’s request to remain vigilant during this corona crisis.

Tigers’ veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has come out of his indoor practice and started training individually outside the field for the first time in order to keep him fit during the long break of the life-threatening virus.

Mushfiqur uploaded a video of the practice on his official Facebook page, where this hard-working cricketer is seen batting, rolling and planking beside running. He has started practicing in a huge field of Fortis Group at Beraid in Badda.

The move was quite surprising considering the fact BCB stated recently that all their venues are ready to roll.

BCB had stated several times that they are taking time for resumption of cricket considering the fact they want to see how the covid-19 situation stands in the country.

BCB has begun a new initiative of allowing players to borrow training equipment from their facilities and veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been the first cricketer to grab the opportunity.

Mushfiqur has been training at home from the beginning of the lockdown and to gear up his intense training at home he paid a visit to the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday to borrow some training equipments from the BCB gym.

BCB recently instructed venue officials all around to issue gym equipments to the national team players as per their requirement.

‘’We have all the facilities ready. Still, we discourage that amid the current situation, especially in places like Mirpur, cricketers should be avoided. Mirpur is in the red zone. But we have everything ready,’’ said BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury.

‘’At the same time what we are doing is giving some of our equipment to the players so that they can do some work even while sitting at home. Even then if anyone else is using any other opportunity, they are doing it on a personal level. They are doing it on their own responsibility we have no involvement in it,’’ he said.

‘’The elite players of our team have been told if they want to practice. Even then they have been advised to be more vigilant in the current situation. Even now, if anyone contacts a private organization, they will do so at their own responsibility. We have nothing to say or do here,’’ he said.

‘’National team players will practice in our arrangement. Because we are giving them all kinds of opportunities. If they want to practice at home, they have been offered all the exercise equipment we have in our gymnasium. If they aren't willing to do at our place, will do it in a private organization, if they do that then it will be done on their own responsibility," he added.
