Bangladesh Cricket Board is planning to provide gym equipments for comparatively lesser fortunate cricketers so that they can keep them fit during the corona pandemic.
BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury told media on Sunday that they have already proposed the board to take such a move so that cricketers can maintain their fitness.
‘’We are trying to see how they can train most effectively at home and while working on this aspect we are seeing if we can help them by providing fitness equipment,’’ said Debashish.
‘’You will see some of them own a gym in their own house while there are few who don’t have enough space at their own backyard,’’ he said.
‘’We are trying to provide few equipments for them who don’t have anything so that they can use it and complete their fitness training at home so that they can at least keep 80 percent fitness and to be honest now they don’t have to have 100 percent fitness. We feel when they will go to outdoor training they will have it[ 100 percent fitness] in three weeks,’’ he said.
BCB has already prepared three different training modules for cricketers so that they can implement when cricket resumes in the country.
While the government has eased down the lockdown from the 30 May, BCB is reluctant to end the cricketing shutdown as they think that the risk of the contagious virus is still at large.

In the latest move BCB said that they are planning to resume training session from end of July or first week of September and BCB is now advancing on preparing a plan as per the given guidelines by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to resume outdoor practice.
