Former ODI skipper Mashrafee bin Mortaza said on Monday that there is no point to panic regarding his health and added that media reports about the unavailability of seat is hospital is ‘baseless’.
Mashrafee stated that his condition is stable despite being tested positive for coronavirus but will need to visit hospital for routine check-up due to his asthma problem.
His family sources have confirmed that Mashrafee’s tests returned positive on Saturday and the cricketer has been in self-isolation at his residence in Dhaka since then but there were lot of speculation in the air regarding the status of his health.

According to media reports Mashrafee was expected to get admitted in the CMH due to his chest pain though sources close to his family did not admit it fully but added that they will take him to Shiekh Russell Gastro Liver Hospital instead of CMH as there is no room available.
‘’If the report is not satisfactory probably than we will have to take a decision about his admission in the hospital and so we have contacted CMH to make sure that if require we can admit him thereafter getting the report,’’ said a member of his family.
‘’As they informed us that there is shortage of seats we are thinking of taking him to SRGLH so that in case it is required we can admit him there. But his condition is quite stable and that medical test is part of routine checkup but still we are keeping all our option open considering we cannot take any chance with him more so due to his asthma problem,’’ added the member.
Mashrafee cleared the air about all the speculation regarding his health and termed the media report about not getting a room totally baseless.
‘’I am physically fine and taking required treatment from home. For some test I need to go to the hospital and that is quite natural. There is no truth of not getting a room in hospital and please don’t panic by this misleading information. Please for me. We have to win this war together,’’ Mashrafee wrote on his Facebook page.
