BCB women’s wing chairman Shafiul Alam Nadel said that they will announce the name of the new head coach for the Tigress within two weeks.
Nadel also said that they have given top priority to appoint a head coach from the European countries.
The post of the head coach remained vacant after head coach Anju Jain suddenly left the country.
Due to her massive failure in the ICC Women’s Twenty20 World Cup in 2020, Jain was widely criticized for her team handling capability. Along with that, there were rumours about her decisions not getting fit with players.

Women’s wing chairman Shafiul Islam, however, confirmed that board was not looking to go any sorts of further contract negotiation with her, even had no interest on the Indian coach.
Islam said she joined changed her address in disguise without informing the board though BCB is not worrying about that as they are determined to announce their next head coach within 15 days.
And the possibility is high that the next coach of the Tigresses will be from the European side.
Nadel also said that due to his attack by the novel coronavirus the process got slow down but it will be done in a matter of time.
“We’ve already decided that we will not renew the contract with Anju. But we started looking for a new coach after the Australia World Cup. Everything is currently closed due to the coronavirus. Of these, four to five have shown interest in becoming coaches,” Nadel said.
“We’ll appoint one of them. But we can’t say right now who will be appointed. However, we can only say that a European coach will be appointed for the women’s team,” Nadel said to reporters.
“They informed me that many had applied. We’ll take the one with whom our words and conditions match. Everything is taking a while because of the coronavirus. Even then we’re working. Maybe in the next 15 days we can appoint a coach,” he concluded.
