Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has decided that they will soon make practice facilities open for the players so cricketers in and around the national team will be able to use the grounds, gymnasiums and other training facilities of Dhaka, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Cox’s Bazar at the moment.
But they said that players have to abide by the rules of hygiene and the rules of the health regiment laid down by the BCB and the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well.
Admitting the matter of reopening the facilities for the players, BCB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nizamuddin Chowdhury said that they will open the stadiums for the players’ practice within a week.
But Chowdhury also said they have to do it by their own effort.

“We’re making arrangements to start training in Dhaka, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Cox’s Bazar. If anyone wants, they can start practice in these places on their own initiative after five-seven days,” Nizamuddin Chowdhury said.
“Not everyone has gym facilities at home; many have no ways to practice. That is why some cricketers have told us that they want to go to the field and practice,” Nizauddin said to a Bengali daily.
“But it’s not possible to make this arrangement in a hurry in this corona situation. We’re going to provide limited training facilities to the cricketers by ensuring all kinds of health security,” he added.
However, BCB Chief Physician Debashis Chowdhury explained the module of the practice which will initially be a limited scale and said the practice will be a solo training under which each player will have one hour chance to practice.
“First the cricketers will come one by one to practice. They will leave the premises after practicing for an hour. Then we’ll allow another one in place of him. In this way, we’ve prepared our initial module for the practice session,” said Dr Debashis. He informed the media if the corona situation continues to improve, the number of players in practice will increase.
After the six matches of the Round-1 in the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League, all the cricketing activities in the country were postponed sine die since March 26 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Cricketers have been under house arrest since then and BCB officials have also been working from home.
