ZAC Stadium to be turned into isolation centre for corona patients

The government has started working to turn the corporate boxes of the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chattogram into an isolation camp for the corona patients.
Along with that, the government has plans further to use several other sports facilities in the country for the patients of the coronavirus.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell made the important revelation to the media in the wake of the uptrend of the coronavirus situation.
The minister informed that they have kept Chattogram BKSP, Mirpur indoor stadium, Gulshan shooting complex, Rajshahi Women’s sports complex and several other facilities on the line to be turned into corona centre or isolation camp beside the ZACS.
“These will be used as quarantine centres, isolation centres or as hospitals at any time if needed,” State Minister for Sports Zahid Ahsan said.
However, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) senior national Grounds Manager Syed Abdul Baten said that only the corporate boxes of the stadium will be used for the corona patients if needed.
“The idea of an isolation camp is being considered. Corporate boxes might only be taken for the isolation centres. It’ll be used if needed,” Baten told the country’s one of the leading web portals Cricfrenzy.
Apart from that Baten also said that the work of maintenance of the field is still going on despite the fear of the coronavirus pandemic.
“The work of the grounds is a continuous process. We’ve our work in not only Sylhet but also in Khulna and Cox’s Bazar. If you don’t cut the grass, don’t water it, don’t roll it, the field will get wracked. That is why we’re constantly working on the field,” Baten concluded.
